Montgomery County Planning has been hosting public hearings and work sessions regarding the proposed bike routes in the county – take a look at proposed paths in our area by clicking on the map link below.  Please note the color chart for the paths – existing, separated, striped, bikeable, and shared.  The alignment along Willard Avenue and a proposed bike trail along the GEICO/Brookdale border are of greatest interest.   Note that this is a master plan, so we can not answer any questions on a specific design.  However, similar to the Capital Crescent Trail, most bike paths are not lit.

Planning staff will be making recommendations to the County Council in late April, our next opportunity to provide testimony.  We are interested in your feedback; if you would like to send comments or have questions, please email Manuel Ochoa at mtochoa@mac.com before April 19th.
